The Workplace First-Aid Kit Guide Dubai Employers Keep Getting Wrong
Dubai Municipality and the Ministry of Human Resources both require workplace first-aid kits. The exact contents depend on your headcount, sector, and risk profile — and 'a plastic box from the pharmacy' rarely passes.
Every UAE workplace with 5 or more employees must have a stocked first-aid kit accessible within 60 seconds. That's the baseline. The mistake we see most is treating the requirement as a purchasing decision instead of a safety decision.
Sizing the kit to your headcount. Up to 25 employees needs a Type-A kit (small, ~40 items). 25–100 needs Type-B (medium, ~80 items). Above 100 needs multiple stations plus a nominated first-aider. Manufacturing and construction sites add on burn dressings, eye-wash, and stretchers regardless of headcount.
Location matters as much as contents. A kit locked in the manager's office at the far end of the building is a compliance risk. Kits should be on every floor for larger offices, near loud machinery, and near cooking stations for F&B businesses.
What actually gets checked. Inspectors verify (a) the kit is stocked to the printed inventory on the inside lid, (b) items are within expiry, (c) at least one nominated first-aider has an in-date certificate. Missing any of the three triggers a warning and a follow-up visit.
Restocking rhythm. We recommend a full inventory check every quarter for offices and monthly for clinics, restaurants, and construction sites. Adhesives, gels, and eye-wash bottles usually expire long before you finish them.
What we deliver. Our workplace kits ship with the MOHAP-approved inventory list printed inside the lid, tamper-evident seal, and a QR code to reorder just the items you've used. If you'd like a right-sized quote for your team, WhatsApp your headcount and sector — we'll send a matched proposal the same day.
